Prof. Eva-Mari Aro
Eva-Mari Aro is a Finnish academician of science and a professor emer. of plant molecular biology at the University of Turku, Finland. Her research has focused on the function, regulation, damage, repair, and evolution of the photosynthetic machinery, with applications in renewable energy and cyanobacterial cell factories. She was elected to the Finnish Academy of Science and Letters in 2001 and to the National Academy of Sciences USA in 2018. Aro has served the European Acadimies` Science Advisory Council (EASAC) for 10 years until 2020 when she finalized her term as a vice president.
