MEET OUR SUNERGY PROGRAMME COORDINATOR
9 September 2020
Since we opened the process for hiring the SUNERGY Programme Coordinator back in March, we received more than 50 applications. After a first pre-selection, six candidates were contacted for a first round of remote interviews at the end of May and three of these called for a second and final round. We are very thankful to all the great candidates that have applied to the position and very glad to welcome since last 1st of September the selected candidate, Linda Veldhuizen, to the SUNERGY team.
Linda will be working from Utrecht University in the general management of the SUNERGY initiative, in close contact with its coordinator, Bert Weckhuysen, and deputy coordinator, Frédéric Chandezon. She will be part of the Coordination Office that provides specialized support in the main activity areas of the initiative: Advocacy, Funding Opportunities, Communication and Strategic R&I Agenda.
“ I am keen to bring my previous expertise to SUNERGY and learn from the developments in this field. I think this is an extremely exciting, ambitious and highly relevant initiative that I am hoping to learn a lot more about in the weeks and months to come. The prospect of a fossil-free future is very inspiring and I look forward to contributing to that”.
Linda Veldhuizen, SUNERGY Programme Coordinator.
Linda has a background in social sciences, sustainability and systems thinking, all focused on the domain of agriculture and food systems. For the past 3.5 years she has worked as the manager of the SDSN thematic network for sustainable agriculture & food systems. She has a great experience in the organisation of MOOC (Massive Open Online Courses) and online conferences for big audiences, which will be of great help for SUNERGY and its coming events.
